Science
Here at the Tuition Club we teach our students more than just the basics of biology, physics and chemistry! We teach them key life skills that are important in every aspect of our lives, including an ability to communicate, remain organised and focused, and even form their own opinion based on observations, collecting information or using logical thinking to draw conclusions. Students are able to work in teams and participate in fun experiments and activities, such as baking cakes in order to understand the concept of irreversible reactions.

Key Stage 1 & 2 Syllabus
In order for our students to receive the best support for science, we only use the best resources that have been rated highly by teachers across the country. For key stages 1 and 2, we use the bestselling Scholastic 100 science lessons series as a planning guide. We aim to give children the best tutoring possible, which includes elements of the national curriculum; as well as other skill building work and syllabus which are effective for children. As we have an active community of home schoolers we aim to facilitate their education using the most effective tools and resources found. We also implement practical learning into our science lessons, which enables students to put in to practice what they learn as well as having fun along the way.

Key Stage 3 Syllabus
For key stage 3 we use the Essential Science for Cambridge Secondary 1 series, which provides complete coverage of the curriculum framework for students from the ages of 11-14. The series is endorsed by Cambridge International Examinations, and has been written by a team of experienced and qualified authors. The workbooks and student books support the curriculum framework, and they are packed with engaging homework and exercises. This series of books will maximise our students’ potential, due to the extensive coverage of KS3 science and also the seamless transition that it provides into Cambridge IGCSE.
At the Tuition Club we aim to support home schooling parents in implementing the Two Year Key Stage 3 Project, which gives students the option to complete the three year syllabus over a two year period. However, the implementation of this two year scheme of work is dependant on a child’s ability.
