Garden Club Continues Tomorrow with a Fun Planning Session @ 1.30pm!

Come and join us tomorrow for session 2 of our Garden Club! Our home-schooled children will be researching and planning how to plant their purchases from last week in our learning garden.

Session 1 – Garden Centre Trip @ Garden Club

The home-schooled students that attended Garden Club last week had a great time exploring the variety of plants, seeds and bulbs that B&Q had on offer. They made some great purchases for our learning garden including seed potatoes, onions sets, tomato, carrot, beetroot, cucumber and strawberry seeds. They also bought a beautiful apple tree and one of our home-schooled parents kindly donated  a pear and plum tree.

Brand New Garden Club! – Starts this Tuesday 23rd April @ 10AM

Come and join in the fun this Spring & Summer at our new Garden Club!

We are excited to announce our brand new garden club, which commences this Tuesday 23rd April in shaa Allaah. The weekly club will give home-schooled children the opportunity to be part of our learning garden by planting and growing a variety of plants, fruits, vegetables and herbs.

Educational Afternoon at Recycle for Greater Manchester Waste Centre!

Last week our home schooled children had a wonderful trip to the Recycle for Greater Manchester Education Centre, as part of our science programme for this term.

The programme of learning activities began with the children exploring the interactive exhibition area and was then followed by an introduction by the Education Officer, which focused on learning about the various coloured bins and the waste that goes in them. The children then participated in an interactive discussion, showing how the items in the mixed recycling bin are matched with an item of science equipment that can be use to separate them (e.g. Magnet separates the steel cans).

Study Skills Workshop – How the Brain Works!

Last week in our study skills workshop we learnt about how the brain works. Identifying whether a student is a left- or right-brain thinker can help them work to their strengths. Understanding how memories are formed can also assist the learning process. Join us for our next session tomorrow where we will be learning how to study effectively!
